In 1984, Eredu S. Coop, a Spanish manufacturer of outdoor furniture, decided to turn their hand to furniture compatible with the office and home market instead. It was obviously the right decision. Launching their new products at the FIM Trade Fair in Valencia, Enea demonstrated a certain flair for modern contract furniture suitable for spaces ranging from private interiors and offices, to hotels, restaurants, auditoriums and conference halls. The critical acclaim to this fledgling company was immediate, and ENEA continues to surprise with its innovation, versatility, comfort and functionality. Nowadays ENEA is a market leader when it comes to contract furniture. Much of the success has been made possible through the company’s collaboration with such design luminaries as Josep Llusca, Gabriel Teixido and Lievore Altherr Molina. Several of ENEA’s products have become veritable icons of modern design, such as the Llusca’s organic Coma barstool. Llusca also created the incredibly comfortable yet ergonomically functional Eina chairs. The Lottus seating collection by Lievore Altherr Molina is likely to become another icon of modern design.
